A new approach to placemaking by Dr. Ombretta Romice
Dr. Ombretta Romice is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture of the University of Strathclyde, and past President of IAPS, the International Association for People Environment Studies (2008-2012; on Board of Trustees 2004-2008). She also served on the AESOP Board until 2004. Her teaching and research are in the areas of urban design, environment behaviour studies, urban morphology and user participation in design. She holds a PhD in urban design and a Post Doc in housing and regeneration sponsored by the EU.
She is part of the Urban Design Studies Unit at the University of Strathclyde. Her lecture was recently delivered as a keynote for the 7th Annual Symposium of Architectural Research in Finland, 2015. The theme ARCHI+TECTONICS: Architecture, Communities and Cities under Change covers a variety of contemporary discussions in architectural research, from architectural design at all scales to the context of urban planning and development.
