London based animation studio Karrot Animation, founded and run by AUB animation alumni Jamie Badminton and Tim O’Sullivan, have once again received BAFTA nominations.

Sarah & Duck – Nominated for Best Pre-school Animation

Their pre-school series Sarah & Duck is now in its 3rd season on CBeebies and has been pulling in some of its highest ratings ever this year in a very competitive field. This is the show’s 4th nomination in this category, winning it in 2014!

The Snowy Day – Nominated for Best International Production

The Snowy Day is the 38 minute holiday special that we produced for Amazon Studios, based on Ezra Jack Keats’ classic book. It had an awesome response on Amazon Prime US last December, with over 1000 five-star-reviews from happy commenters, sharing their love for the original book and the way the special had gently expanded and built on the story! After scooping up two Emmys in the USA earlier this year, it now has a BAFTA nomination as well!

Karrot have been nominated for Independent Production Company of the year!

Jamie Badminton, one of Karrot’s founding members had this to say:

“The Karrot crew have been producing outstanding work in the last year and I’m delighted that they can all now take a massive amount of credit for these three nominations!

I’m very proud that, in our 3rd Season, Sarah & Duck is still at the top of its game and taking audiences on funny and mesmerising journeys. We’re also elated that the special we made with Amazon Studios, ‘The Snowy Day’ has been so warmly received and is now competing against the strongest shows of the year from around the world!”

What can we say but a huge congrats to Karrot Animation and our amazing alumni who work there!
