John Pardey RIBA established his practice in 1988 as a sole trader whilst teaching at several schools of architecture.
The practice re-launched in 2000 as John Pardey Architects (jpa) and the practice has gone on to gain thirty-nine national and international awards. His work has been published and exhibited widely and has been featured on national television. He has lectured on his work at many schools of architecture both here and abroad as well as represented young British architects at the 1990 international Forum of Young Architects’ Congress at the University Laval in Quebec. He has taught at the South Bank, PCL, Canterbury and Portsmouth Schools of Architecture, been a visiting lecturer at the University of Southampton and post-graduate external examiner at Cardiff and Oxford Brookes Universities. John was appointed as a member of CABE’s National Design Review Panel in 2009, and as Chair of the Regional RIBA Awards in 2010 and 2014. He is a member of the National Jury for the RIBA Awards in 2015. John is the author of three books: ‘Utzon: Two houses on Majorca’, published by in 2005; ‘Louisiana and Beyond – The work of Vilhelm Wohlert’, also by Edition Bløndal in 2007; and ‘Peter Aldington: Houses’ due to be published in 2015. He contributed to a monograph on the work of Jørn Utzon published in 2002 on the Tietgen Dormitory in Copenhagen, published in 2012 (Edition Bløndal).
