MA Architecture: Spatial Practices student Katie Thomas has been working collaboratively with local inclusive performance group, Diverse City.

On Tuesday 8th September, 7:30pm during the MADE MA show Private View, Katie is running a free performance celebrating the abilities of diverse bodies through dance, circus and physical theatre. Infinite involves a specially designed and commissioned accessible set manufactured by lead sponsor, Poole-based Kirolite.

Comprising of social metaphors and juxtapositions, the performance is structured around a series of architectural frames, creating a ‘Mountain’ set.

Diverse City are in residency at AUB for just under one week from Monday 24th August, running creative, choreographic workshops for their students that conclude with 2 performances with the set for the general public on the 29th.

The performances will be located in the space between the Library and University House.

Katie has founded the charitable organisation ‘Infinite’ whilst doing her MA as a way of fusing architecture, design and inclusive performance, with the aim to reframe perceptions of disability.
