Final year BA (Hons) Illustration student, Louis Craig Carpenter has won joint third prize in the prestigious Macmillan Children’s books Prize 2014 for his work ‘Umbra’.

Allie Oldfield was also awarded highly commended for her work ‘In the Night’

The judging panel for the competition is made up of Pan Macmillan editorial and design staff.

Joel Lardner, Senior Lecturer of BA (Hons) Illustration said “This is an incredibly competitive competition that is usually dominated by specialist post graduate students, however our course is regularly recognised, so we continue to build on previous success. Congratulations to Louis and Allie!”

Prizes were awarded on Tuesday 20th May. The winners’ and the highly commended students’ work will be exhibited at The Coningsby Gallery, London, from 20th May until 22nd May 2014.
