Five BA (Hons) Fine Art students were selected to take part in the annual Hans Brinker budget Trophy in Amsterdam.
The work is exhibited in the Hans Brinker Hostel, a yearly exhibition that attracts a huge crowd to the opening night. The winner is chosen by public vote, and is given the prestigious trophy and 5000€. The budget trophy is the largest student Fine Art prize in Europe, and the students were extremely honoured to be put forward for it. Students Curtly Adams, Leandro Alenfel, Carrie Mason, Seung Chan Baek and Anna Moss joined students from five other UK and Dutch renowned art colleges in presenting their work.
Anna Moss shares her experience:
“I was really excited to be given the opportunity to exhibit my painting at the Hans Brinker show in Amsterdam. I have been working continuously with painting since starting at AUB and to be involved in this exhibition has been one of the highlights of my degree. It was really great to meet painters from Dutch and other UK art schools and see everyone’s different ideas of what painting can be. The exhibition was fantastically well organised and hundreds of people turned up on opening night to view all the paintings. It was great to talk with the Dutch locals who came to view the show and every positive comment gave me that priceless bit of confidence that definitely goes a long way when putting my personal work out into the big scary world. The whole experience was amazing and made me really excited to keep painting.”
