BA (Hons) Graphic Design student, Sophie Miles, is a winner in the international ALL RISE, Say No to Cyber ABUSE Filmmaking Competition.

The competition set the challenge of creating a video showcasing that: Freedom of Speech is not freedom to abuse ON or OFF line.

Sophie, who is a Study Abroad student from Sydney, Australia achieved third place in the competition with her film ‘You Should Be Dancing’. The winners were announced at a high profile evening in London on Internet Safety Day. The event was attended by film industry professionals as well as politicians and policy makers in the field.

Sophie tells us: “It is really rewarding to get recognition for my film as I am using my skills for a social cause that has the potential to improve people’s lives. It was fantastic to hear the judge’s comments and receive feedback from such a distinguished and varied panel.”

With over 3 billion internet users, cyber abuse is soaring. ALL RISE is a not-for profit organisation established for the purpose of calling out cyberbullying, cyber trolling and cyberstalking for what they truly are – Cyber Abuse.
