Students from BA (Hons) Fine Art went on a study visit to the Venice Biennale, the premiere international event for contemporary art.

The students spent a week there, visiting National Pavilions of art in the Giardini, and a huge curated show in the old shipyard and warehouses of the Arsenale.

There was also time to take in leading contemporary art collections, Renaissance paintings at the Accademia Gallery, works around the city including Titian, Tintoretto, Tiepolo and Bellini, medieval fish markets, a psychedelic noise gig on the mainland and a lot of local specialities – pizza, pasta, cicchetti and spritz.
