BA (Hons) Fine Art student, Josie Dove, has been awarded runner up at The Batsford Prize 2016.

Josie responded to this year’s theme of ‘Reuse, Recycle, Reclaim’ with an installation piece.

She tells us more: “The work harbors abstract expressive tendencies aiming to discover alternate ways to use materials and objects differently to their original use, repurposing mundane and disregarded items and materials whose function is outdated, unappreciated, or whose existence or potential is not noticed to an ordinary eye by turning them into large scale three dimensional paintings or immersive sculptures and installations.”

Josie will be exhibiting another installation using her assemblage technique at the Summer Shows, on campus 17 – 24 June 2016.
