BA (Hons) Fashion final year Eleanor Hamilton has been been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Harrod’s ‘Star of Tomorrow Writing’ Competition.

The annual competition aims to scout and nurture emerging British talent, providing a platform to launch their careers in a particularly competitive and dynamic industry.  The prize will allow the two winners to get a taste of the world’s most famous department store and its leading publication – the Harrods Magazine.

Eleanor told us about her entry: “I decided to research into the future of the beauty industry and identified innovation lies in the combining of the technology and beauty industries to create unique personalised products. Although innovation and technology are undoubtedly the way forward, there are some beauty innovations emerging in the luxury market such as genetic testing that are pushing both moral and ethical boundaries, and so I believe its important to question how far we are willing to go to create the perfect product.

I was completely shocked to be shortlisted but very excited and am very much looking forward to presenting my work at the British Fashion Council headquarters. The chance to intern for the Harrod’s magazine this summer would be incredibly valuable to me and would definitely kick start my career in fashion journalism after graduating.”

AUB wish Eleanor the best of luck! She will be presenting to a panel of judges at Somerset house on 10th April 2015.
