What does it mean to be a woman working in the VFX and Animation industries?

Ellie Dupont, Lecturer in BA (Hons) Visual Effects Design and Production has organised an industry led discussion panel focussing on the contributions, successes and experiences of women in the industry.

”Why do VFX and other computer and technology courses attract so few women, and why are there so few women currently working in the film industry?

“The theme of ‘Diversity within the Industry’ is a current and important theme that is making waves currently, both in education and within the film industry.

“This event looks at unpicking some of the topics surrounding this theme and encouraging students to ask questions and dig a little deeper to find some answers to these questions”. Ellie Dupont.

10 key speakers from industry including Framestore, Aardman and CBeebies, will be at the event being held on Friday 26 May at AUB, and will join a collaborative discussion panel with academics and students.

A rare and valuable opportunity for BA (Hons) Animation Production and BA (Hons) Visual Effects Design and Production students to gain insight into the experiences and issues that still face the industry around gender equality.

Students from all courses are welcome to attend the event.
