Bournemouth’s annual Visual Effects, Animation and Games Festival took place earlier this month at the Bournemouth International Centre.
The BFX Festival included presentations, workshops and master classes from leading industry professionals, VFX and Animation film screenings and the latest developments from the Games industry.
This year, AUB student ambassadors ran specialist workshops, introducing stop motion to festival participants.
Speaking about the festival, AUB Student Ambassador, Jessica Mountfield, said:
“That was one of the most rewarding things I’ve done this whole year! The number of excited kids was off the chart, we were swamped the whole weekend.
“It was so cool introducing some kids to animation for the first time and helping other people who already love it improve their skills. Loads of parents went away looking for apps to try some at home with their kids (and so many people were completely amazed seeing their models come to life), it was adorable!
“We made about 100 animations over the two days, the results were hilarious – from monster cake eating competitions to flying bugs and warring ‘squish’ monsters.”
