Students collaborate on AUB Productions

Acting / Costume and Performance Design / Make-up for Media and Performance Staff Course news / Industry News – Published 13th Oct 17

Join our third year BA (Hons) Acting students for their Autumn productions, held in the Studio Theatre on campus.

Each of our productions at AUB sees our BA (Hons) Acting students collaborate with BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design and BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance students to bring performances to life.

The first of these is our production of The Visit by Friedrich Durrenmatt, which starts next Thursday 19th October. Directed by Kirstie Davis, The Visit tells the story of a wealthy woman who returns to her debt-ridden home town with a dark decision for the villagers to make.

Wednesday 8th November sees the opening of our second production, Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris, directed by Sean Aita. Set in Chicago in the 1950s, this play explores the politics of race through sharp satire and made its stage debut in 2010.

Our third production sees Sebastian Harcombe direct students in As If, after William Shakespeare famous play, As You Like It.

With elaborate gender reveals, love, lust and mistaken identities, this is one of Shakespeare’s funniest works. The play opens on Friday 24th November.

Our final production of the autumn term is Alice by Laura Wade and directed by Luke Kernaghan. This play breathes fresh life to the well-loved story of Alice in Wonderland – with Alice escaping into a topsy-turvy adventure world from her Sheffield home.
