Arts University Bournemouth has become an official partner of National Writing Day.
Described as ‘a celebration of writing creatively’, National Writing Day is a collaborative initiative between First Story and partner arts and literacy organisations across the UK. It is supported by Arts Council England and Old Possum’s Practical Trust.
AUB will be leading writing events on the day and in the lead up to, feeding into wider national events.
BA (Hons) Creative Writing Lecturer, Dr. James Cole will be working with local schools, as well as the Young Writers Group of the Lighthouse Theatre and the AUB SU Writing Society.
He said: “Becoming an official partner for National Writing Day is an exciting prospect for AUB where narrative and storytelling is at the heart of so many courses. We will be joining some of the UK’s leading literature and arts organisations including The Royal Society of Literature and The National Literacy Trust, as well as world-renowned authors including Michael Morpurgo and Michael Rosen, to help create resources and run events celebrating the written word.”
National Writing Day takes place on 21st June 2017.
