Three Arts University Bournemouth trained artists have seen their work exhibited at Abu Dhabi’s newly renovated Cultural Foundation.
The artists were sponsored by Abu Dhabi’s Department for Culture and Tourism, and have now returned to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to exhibit their work at the Cultural Foundation, a national centre used to inspire the next generation of aspiring artists, from school to exhibition as artists-in-residence.
The Foundation summer show is a celebration of all the fantastic work our Foundation students do throughout their time at AUB.
The Foundation at AUB allows students to specialise in different creative pathways to explore their skills further. The pathways include: Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, 3D (Art, Craft and Design), Film and Animation and finally Fashion, Costume and Textiles.
Since studying at Arts University Bournemouth, Jo Godden has gone on to have a lucrative career in fashion, working for brands such Victoria’s Secret, The Gap Inc and M&S.
Since 2008 Jo has only worked for ethical brands and in 2009 founded her own brand, RubyMoon.
BA (Hons) Acting graduate, Yvonne Grundy graduated in the summer of 2018, at which time she had already landed a major part in a new Thomas and Friends film, Big World, Big Adventures, voicing the Kenyan train, Nia.
We caught up with Yvonne to find out about life post-AUB in the acting industry.
Jack Lawrence graduated from AUB in 2014, after completing his foundation course and BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree.
Since graduating he has worked for Southampton Football Club and set up his own design studio, Tails Creative. We spoke to Jack to find out more about his time at AUB and his experiences as a professional designer.
Hannah Salisbury studied BA (Hons) Textiles at AUB, graduating in 2016 and has gone on to work for menswear brand Pretty Green.

Joanna Paterson studied BA (Hons) Commercial Photography at AUB, graduating in 2006. Since then she’s worked with a host of brands, such as John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and O2. She’s travelled to the other side of the world in pursuit of her craft, and even returned to AUB as a visiting tutor. Joanna talks to us about all things freelance, achieving goals and finding mentors.
“I came to AUB because it was still doing the two-year foundation degree”, says Joanna.

AUB played host to a range of fascinating speakers as part of its annual in-house Creative Learning Symposium, this year focusing on "Perceptions of Excellence"
