AUB Fashion are delighted to have won the Gold Award at London Graduate Fashion Week this year, and scooped a total of seven awards, making AUB officially the best graduate collection of 2018!
Each year Graduate Fashion Week take over London’s East End Truman Brewery to host the biggest and most exciting catwalk showcasing student talent. Four days of catwalk shows featuring each university take place, followed by a Gala Awards ceremony with categories judged by industry leaders.
BA (Hons) Fashion Branding and Communication student, Alice Hollingsworth is the happy winner of the Lyst Fashion Writing Competition, for her inspiring fashion piece, ‘All That Glitters’.
For the brief in late 2017, the student contestants were asked to produce a 400-600-word article about ‘their favourite fashion trend of the moment’, while adhering to a number of guidelines. Her captivating festive themed article focused the glitter and disco trends, exploring everything from sparkly layers to daring glitter brows.
Fine Art graduates Clive Kudakwashe and Jess Thomas, otherwise known as the duo ‘Multiplicity’ have recently shown work in their first solo show.
The exhibition, held at the Truman Brewery, ran from the 1st until the 4th of February and consisted of new work from both Kudakwashe and Thomas, the sole contributors to the collective. The duo won the overall prize at Free Range 2017, exhibiting with their peers within the ‘v.serious art show’ – this solo show being the outcome of the prize.
Recently, students from BA (Hons) Fashion, BA (Hons) Architecture and BA (Hons) Textiles courses collaborated in cross-course teams while responding to a live project based in Poole.
This popular project takes place between the courses each year, and has been running for the past six years. Placed into mixed teams, students were given a word and a location in Poole to respond to in a creative way.

The piece followed Gucci’s announcement yesterday that the brand would be dropping fur from their new collection, replacing the items with synthetic replacements. The decision has been described as a ‘game changer’ in the industry.
