On Friday 23rd February 2018, Adams Kara Taylor (AKT) Engineers Director, Daniel Bosia, will provide an insightful lecture on ‘Engineering on the Curve, from ZHA to the Drawing Studio’.

Last week we heard from Helmut Kinzler at Zaha Hadid Architects, that when the Zaha team won the Cincinnati Gallery competition, with their flying, projecting building, they were no different.
Join AUB’s Chancellor, Professor Sir Christopher Frayling, on Tuesday 20th February 2018, for Frankenstein themed lecture organised by Bournemouth University’s Centre for Media History.
Frayling’s insightful lecture, ‘It’s Alive! The First 200 Years of Frankenstein’, is a forerunner to the 2018 Shelley Frankenstein Festival, and will take place at Mary Shelley’s burial place of St Peter’s Church, Bournemouth.
On February 13th, AUB opened its doors to local businesses to encourage future commercial collaborations through EU match-funding and access to exemplary equipment and skills.
The event was curated by Adele Keeley, Senior Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design course, Daniel Cox, Knowledge Exchange Manager for AUB, and Lucy Devall, Innovation Officer at AUB, and included a panel discussion, campus tour, workshop and networking lunch. It concluded with a private viewing of The Creative Exchange exhibition, a showcase of collaborative projects between AUB and the industry.
AUBSU & Bestival Presents Open Lecture: Festivals as a Platform for Art
After receiving an energetic welcome when AUB ran its annual project, AUB24, and end of term party with the award-winning boutique music festival in May 2017, on Monday 12th February, students at AUB welcomed Bestival back for an Open Lecture.

BA (Hons) Architecture Keynote Lecture: Design Engine Architects
On 9th February 2018, Design Engine Architects’ Founding Director, Richard Jobson, rewarded the BA (Hons) Architecture course with an insightful lecture, topics of which included their new publication, Building Stories.
TheGallery welcomes the Zaha Hadid Architects: Evolution exhibition, in collaboration with the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA).
Curated by Dr. Christian McLening and Woody Yao, the exhibition explores how ZHA has tailored its design processes over the past thirty years resulting in some of the world’s most ground-breaking structures. From handmade models and sketches, to 3D printed prototypes and videos, follow the extraordinary journey from analogue to digital and discover how different media has played an important role in project generation.
MA Commercial Photography host a workshop at The Photographers’ Gallery to show the prospects of a Photography Career.

On 13th February, we invite local businesses to our campus for a unique opportunity to explore AUB’s breadth of maker talent and our innovative collaborative industry projects, tour our refurbished workshop, studios and equipment, and see a private view of our Creative Exchange industry exhibition.
University Music offers a wide range of exceptional musical opportunities to AUB and Bournemouth University students and staff, as well as to members of the local community.
Regular Orchestra, Choir, Big Band, Chamber Choir and Musical Theatre Choir groups participate.
MAP, an architectural exhibition curated by second year BA (Hons) Architecture students and Senior Lecturer, Channa Vithana, was recently displayed at The Lighthouse, Poole.
The exhibition originated as Music Architecture Poole in 2011, displaying work based on Poole town. Poole’s rich history is evident and the students analyse moments of the past and present together in the exhibition.
