Photography Alumna Featured in Vogue India for ‘Kranti’ Project

BA (Hons) Photography graduate, Radha Datta, was featured in Vogue India this month in response to her eye-opening photography project with non-profit organisation (NGO), Kranti.

Based in Mumbai, Kranti is a NGO shelter that empowers girls from red-light areas to become ‘agents of positive change’, by providing a healing home, education, and personalised opportunities.

MA Commercial Photography Student Featured on ’35 Photographers to Watch’ List

This month, MA Commercial Photography student, Megan Winstone was highlighted as one of the ’35 Photographers to Watch’ by contemporary online photography platform, LensCulture.

Megan was chosen from an impressive list of female curators, photo editors, program directors, and photographers for the feature, which was created in honour of International Women’s Day on 8th March.

Third Year Photography Student Represented at Gudberg Nerger Gallery

BA (Hons) Photography student, Isobel Foster is currently exhibiting her work at Hamburg’s Gudberg Nerger gallery. Presently in her third year of study at AUB, Isobel has a love for both photography and art which really comes across in her work.

Isobel’s relationship with the gallery began after reaching out to the owner who is in the same industry as her father. She initially got in contact hoping for some career and portfolio advice, but happily things developed further and the exhibition was born.

Commercial Photography Students Explore NYC

Commercial Photography students have just returned from New York City exploring the sights, galleries and photo opportunities.

The trip took place between 19th – 24th February, an educational visit as part of the course. BA (Hons) Commercial Photography students have the opportunity to go on a number of trips throughout their degree – including a trip to ‘The Big Apple!’

Adama Jalloh Photographs Backstage at UK Black Panther Premiere

BA (Hons) Commercial Photography alumna, Adama Jalloh, ventured backstage for i-D at the ‘Black Panther’ UK premiere last week to photograph the cast in monochrome majesty.

An assignment for i-D, the BJP Breakthrough Awards winner captured the ‘Black Panther’ cast, which included actors Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright and Martin Freeman, dressed in sharp suits and glittering gowns.

After studying in Bournemouth and then at Wolverhampton University, the talented photographer and co-creator of The Protagonist Magazine turned his attention to fashion, finding himself under the wing of late magazine editor, Isabella Blow and legendary milliner, Philip Treacy. Manny Melotra: The Broadway, was an exploration of diaspora communities living together in Southall, West London.

Manny Melotra, second-year MA Commercial Photography student, exhibited at The Old Truman Brewery from the 2-4th February and was met with positive responses. The Broadway captured themes of migration, alienation, religion, community and austerity and featured poetry by Aisha-Asher Morgan. The successful exhibition transformed you into a world full of enigma, as people from various cultural and religious backgrounds found themselves living side-by-side in a space with its own challenges.
