Students and staff from BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design and BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance have collaborated to produce a short film that showcases almost one hundred costumes, spanning three centuries.
Final year BA (Hons) Graphic Design student Georgina Venning has won the Patricia Tindale Legacy Award in the RSA Student Design Awards.
Inside Life Outside was a 3rd year Creative Events Management project with the aim of creatively sharing the stories of the homeless, and raising awareness of a serious contemporary issue.
The Orb project was developed by a range of professionals and academics, from varying backgrounds and disciplines. Its concept was conceived through practical engagements of prototypes and discussions. The scope and application of the project are still in active discussion, as new collaborations and interpretations assist in the future of Orb dialog and development.

Students from BA (Hons) Modelmaking, BA (Hons) Architecture, BA (Hons) Interior Architecture, BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Fashion worked in cross-course collaborative teams on a 24-hour design challenge.

They responded to a Valentines Open Brief: ‘Please create art that would look great on the wall year round, and be inspired by all things amorous… including well known romantic movies’.

Pop Down is a collaborative project between AUB and Pop-Up Poole that aims to challenge your thinking and to turn your world upside down.
This project was a live brief for a pop-up shop to help regenerate Poole High Street with the theme of ‘Upside Down’.
BA (Hons) Costume with Performance Design Alumnus and now Cirque Bijou’s costume designer Sarah Dicks is working with David Wood, current Costume student to create a costume using reclaimed materials for the opening of Bristol European Green Capital.
Cirque Bijou and Arts University Bournemouth have a successful history of working together. In 2012 they won award for the costumes created for the opening celebrations of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Events in Weymouth and Portland.
Tim Edgar, Head of School Prep HE and Foundation Course Leader recently visited Indian schools in Delhi and Dehradun offering advice on Portfolio building and running “Concertina” Book Workshops.
These were a great success building on relationships which have been established over the last few years, with many Indian students now studying at AUB on Foundation and as Undergraduates. Tim noticed how often the Indian students, aged 17 or 18, chose timely environmental themes to explore.
Tuesday 9th December brought together students and staff from the Arts University Bournemouth, SUBU, the Woodland Trust, Slades Farm Community Garden project and Bournemouth Borough Council at Slades Farm (a local outdoor community space) to take part in the planting of 1000 trees.
