Architecture, design and arts students and graduates are being urged to take up a unique opportunity to boost their skills with a two-week programme in Italy.
Arts University Bournemouth is delighted to be working with the Sorrento Design Programme, based in the Bay of Naples, to allow students and graduates to expand their skills, both through practical and app-based methods.

AUB graduate, Julia Mulders was recently selected to begin work experience at the innovative Heatherwick studio in central London.
Graduating last year, Julia was lucky enough to secure her placement after winning gold at the 2017 Creative Conscience Awards, in which she was recognised for her exemplary work into the alleviation of malnutrition in rural Zambia. Read more on Julia’s win here.
Harry Thorpe, currently a Level 6 student on the BA (Hons) Architecture course, recently spent a weekend at the University of Sheffield for the TRADA Urban Buzz competition.

This week, Owen Hatherley delivers his lecture ‘The Last Avant-Gardist? Architecture, Politics & the City in the architecture of Zaha Hadid’, the last in the Zaha Hadid lecture series.
Architecture students and staff were treated to not one but two inspiring lectures by Honorary Fellow, Professor Sir Peter Cook.
An esteemed architect, lecturer, and influential writer, Professor Sir Peter Cook’s career began right here as a student in Bournemouth, where the picturesque Dorset coastline and enriching Landsdowne Library facilitated his creativity.

On Friday, Dr. Nerma Cridge will deliver a detailed lecture about Zaha Hadid’s early series of drawings and paintings.
BA (Hons) Architecture students visit the Berry Court development in Bournemouth, a joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments and Bournemouth Borough Council.
The students were shown around the development of 113 apartments by main contractor, Morgan Sindall Construction, and project architect, David Hannaford of BrightSpace Architects. The tour was part of an ongoing relationship between the AUB BA (Hons) Architecture course and Morgan Sindall Construction, which saw a similar group undertake a tour last year.
