Faye Bowden is a working artist who graduated from the BA (Hons) Fine Art course in 2015.
After applying for a residency run by the Royal Drawing School in October 2017, Faye was successful and will be attending a two-week, full-time residency based in Dumfries House, South-West Scotland. We chatted with Faye before her impending and exciting opportunity began.
For some time, drawing was thought to be a dying practice. Fortunately, today, this age-old tradition is making a drawn-out but undeniable comeback.

Fine Art graduate in residence, Sian Hutchings, recently ran a workshop entitled ‘A Composition for Drawing’ for students from Richmond College, along with final year student, Joseff Morgan.
Sian tells us more about the event: “After the success of running the sonic journals workshop for South Downs College, I was asked to run a fine art/illustration based workshop for art students from Richmond College.
On 20th February, I had the opportunity to run a workshop along with BA (Hons) Fine Art Course Leader Richard Waring and two students helpers (Charles Pritchard & Joe Morgan) for 26 Japanese students from Kyoto University of Art and Design (KUAD).
The day started with a short presentation about the course from Course Leader Richard Waring.
Liv and Dom Cave-Sutherland graduated from BA (Hons) Illustration in 2015. They have since established an international craft brand under the name Liv & Dom, creating and selling quirky (and mainly nude) characters.
They explain what it’s like to build a brand and work together as identical twins.
