Frankenstein Unbound Conference

An Interdisciplinary Conference Exploring Mary Shelley and Gothic Legacies

On the 31st October and 1st November 2018, AUB and St Peter’s Church, in association with Bournemouth University, are teaming up to celebrate the bicentenary of Frankenstein. Influential around the world, the 1818 masterpiece, Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus, is Mary Shelley’s most iconic work and continues to inspire new generations of fans.

Kate Adie’s Words of Wisdom for Creative Writing Students

Students from the BA (Hons) Creative Writing course were treated to a visit from distinguished BBC journalist, author, and broadcaster, Kate Adie OBE.

Kate shared experiences from her varied career with students, from covering the Iranian Embassy hostage crisis in London in 1980, to front-line reporting in many of the world’s most war-torn countries.

Writers & Artists Publishing Event

Writers & Artists recently teamed up with AUB to host a writing and publishing workshop on Saturday 28th April.

The event took place on campus and included a two-hour workshop with one of three professional writers, panel discussions with leading publishers and literary agents, and networking opportunities for current BA (Hons) Creative Writing students and members of the public.
