The AUB Environment Committee is delighted to announce the winners of the Sustainability Awards.
James works in campus services as the senior campus services officer. One of his main remits includes looking after sustainability and the environment at AUB.
So, what does sustainability mean to you?
AUB is one step closer to establishing a sustainable future and raising awareness of environmental issues at our specialist GOLD institution.
EcoCampus is a flexible phased approach to introducing an Environment Management System. The university achieved Bronze certification in October 2017, Silver in October 2018, and now we have achieved the Gold Award in April 2019.
Last week AUB held a ceremony to break-ground on a new student halls of residence.
The accommodation will be home to 300 students and is situated on AUB’s Wallisdown campus. Designed to fit in with the campus’ cutting-edge design aesthetic, the building will feature eight-bed clusters with communal kitchens and dining areas centred around a landscaped courtyard. The high quality accommodation includes roof-top solar panels, assisting in reducing the building’s energy demand, leading the way in sustainable living.
This March, AUBSU took over the campus for Go Green Week, giving AUB a jam-packed week highlighting our students desire for more sustainable and green events.
The event was run and organised by the AUBSU Green Team, with activities every day and finishing with a trip to the Eden Project.
Join the BA (Hons) Dance students in an interactive Day of Dance across the AUB campus.
On Thursday 9th May, from 10am to 4pm, BA (Hons) Dance students will be performing unique dance pieces around the AUB campus .
Holi: The Festival of Colour
Holi is the Indian festival of colour and is one of the liveliest events that takes place on campus.
British artist and sculptor Tim Harrisson visited AUB on Thursday 14 March to provide a lecture about his practice.
The talk was introduced by Professor Simon Olding, Director of the Crafts Study Centre, University for the Creative Arts and Honorary Fellow of AUB, with Tim speaking about the meaning of his works donated to AUB.

To mark International Women’s Day, AUB & BU music are to perform a very special recital in South House Lecture Theatre at the AUB campus.
BA (Hons) Creative Events Management students host a rocking Science and Arts themed event in the CRAB Drawing Studio.
As part of their Live Event Brief, Level 5 Creative Events students worked with the Mary Anning Rocks, a charity set up to remember the paleontologist, Mary Anning and raise funds to install a statue on the Jurassic Cost.
University Music’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah takes place in St. Ambrose Church, Westbourne on Sunday 9th December at 4.30pm.
The University Music Choir and orchestra is made up of staff, alumni and students from both Arts University Bournemouth and Bournemouth University.
