Arts University Bournemouth is delighted to be working with the Sorrento Design Programme, based in the Bay of Naples, to allow students and graduates to expand their skills, both through practical and app-based methods.
Dorset-born filmmaker, Edgar Wright, best known for his critically acclaimed films Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and his most recent Box Office hit, Baby Driver, returned to Arts University Bournemouth to share anecdotes about his college days.
Wright was born in Poole and grew up in Swanage and Somerset. He speaks fondly of his childhood days, telling students “some of the earliest stuff I made has an escapist element to it, because I grew up in Dorset and Somerset“. He studied a National Diploma in Audio-Visual Design at AUB (Bournemouth and Poole College as it was then) between 1992-1994, before going on to make his first feature film, A Fistful of Fingers, shortly after in 1995.
2017 graduate animations Liv and Vida, have been selected for screenings at the 26th International Animation Festival of Brazil, Anima Mundi.
Vida will be screened in the Panorama programme, while Liv will take part in the Animation Course/Student programme. The annual festival takes place in various Brazillian cities across 2018. Firstly, in Rio de Janeiro from 24th to 29th July, and then in São Paulo from 1st to 5th August. In addition, Anima Mundi will also hold a show in Brasilia, where part of the programme presented at Anima Mundi will be shown.

BA (Hons) Photography graduate, Radha Datta, was featured in Vogue India this month in response to her eye-opening photography project with non-profit organisation (NGO), Kranti.
Based in Mumbai, Kranti is a NGO shelter that empowers girls from red-light areas to become ‘agents of positive change’, by providing a healing home, education, and personalised opportunities.
