Recent Fine Art graduates Clive Timothy and Jessica Thomas win at Free Range Shows Awards for Best work. For the second year running, Fine Art at AUB have won at the Free Range Shows!
Each year the recent graduates of Fine Art fundraise in their final year to partake in the annual Free Range Shows held at The Old Truman Brewery in London. The Free Range Shows gives students from a range of top creative universities around the UK the opportunity to take part in a huge exhibition which sees gallerists, curators and other institutions scout out the best work.
Graduating BA (Hons) Graphic Design students won awards at the D&AD New Blood Festival and Creative Conscience 2017 Global competitions in London last week.

AUB alumna, Thora Arnardottir, graduated from the BA (Hons) Architecture course in 2014 and now works as an Architectural Bio Designer and Researcher.
We caught up with Thora to find out about her experiences as an international student and her career after graduating from AUB.

AUB Film and Animation alumnus, Richard Elson, has directed West End play, Held.
Set in a modern UK prison, the story explores the desperate, broken lives of five inmates and the chains that bind them.
Alumna of the AUB BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance course, Kate Wakefield achieved an amazing First Place in the professional ‘Fantasy Makeup’ category at the National Make Up Awards, held at Birmingham NEC.
The theme of the category was Pirates of the Caribbean.
BA (Hons) Fine Art alumni, Emma McKinney, tells us about life after university…
Emma graduated from the BA (Hons) Fine Art course at AUB in 2015. Since March 2016, she has been working at Eastside Projects, an artist-run organisation based in a gallery in Birmingham.
With the tagline “using graphic design & illustration freelancing to take her to unexpected corners of the world“, Saskia writes articles sharing her experience and wisdom, covering topics from freelancing and how to get paid right, to how to find more inspiration in your creative work.
A group called The Work in Progress Collective, made up of AUB alumni are featured in the current edition of International Design Network Magazine (Vol23 No6), focussing on Pattern in Illustration.
WIPC’s approach grew from a fundraising collaboration between staff and students on BA (Hons) Visual Communication for the Summer shows 2016. They created prints and pattern books using polymer plates overlaid to explore variation. Read more about the work in progress collective.
Jamie Badminton, and fellow 2002 graduate Tim O’Sullivan, opened London-based animation studio, Karrot Entertainment in 2007, to develop projects of their own.
