MA / BA Costume Graduate Sarah Dicks is Art Director for BBC3 Comedy ‘Fuzzbox’.
Sarah designed all the costumes for the puppets, which were heavily influenced by the teenagers whose voices appear in the show.
Fine Art Lecturer Dominic Shepard has work in ‘The Future Can Wait’ at the Saatchi Gallery, 12-17th October.
Dominic has one large piece in the show and had taken part annually for the last few years.
These are the plastic stories of designers, humanitarian documentary makers, scenographers, animators, monster makers, academics and astronauts. Stories of objects that are loaded with emotions, memories and meaning.

Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival is back for the third year, bringing an eclectic multi-art form programme of over 50 events to the south coast. Highlights this year include Mutoid Waste fresh from adorning the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, who will be bringing a huge animatronics parade to the beach. The festival opens with a spectacular weekend of free events, from Fri 20th – Sun 22nd September with the programme running until 12th October.

Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is quite literally ‘getting on its bike’, with the delivery of a custom made bicycle from Boscombe Bike Club, a group of AUB students who are dedicated to the upcycling and refurbishing of unwanted bicycles to turn them into a working piece of cool visual art.
The 55th la Biennale di Venezia – the world-renowned international art exhibition – opened in style at the weekend, with over 150 pieces of art from 37 countries. Over the next few months, over 370,000 visitors will be travelling to Venice to critique the work on display, but perhaps none more expressive that Betty Biennale, an omnipotent art presence, who has been giving her undiluted opinion on the artworks during press week.
Betty Biennale originates from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) – she is the result of collaboration between Welsh artist Pete Fowler and the AUB Marketing Team. She was created to make the Venice Biennale accessible to an audience in the UK – made up of creatives from AUB, Arts Pavilion Bournemouth (a partnership between AUB, Arts Bournemouth and work in progress for Venice Agendas) and those in the creative industry who are interested in her sharp tongue and candid opinion.

Twenty young creatives have been crowned as the winners of this year’s Who Are You? competition, which supersizes their winning artwork onto billboards in London and across other major sites in the UK.
The annual competition developed by Arts University of Bournemouth (AUB), aims to give budding creatives between the ages of 14-19, the opportunity to express themselves by asking them to create a poster which states who they feel they are in the world today. On hand to judge the entries were a host of leading lights in the creative industry; including the world renowned photographer Rankin, young artist Stuart Semple, and war photographer Giles Duley.
