The Altered books have been made by students in two settings – AUB and Bournemouth and Poole College- and bought together to strengthen links between students in both places.
What if Superheroes were around in Shakespearean times?
The BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design course has transformed DC Comic superheroes such as Batman, The Joker and Catwoman and reimagined them as Shakespearean characters in full Jacobean costume complete with ruffs, patterned silks and ornate cuffs and collars. The project is to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death on 23rd April 2016 and to celebrate the release of two DC movies this year – Batman v Superman in March and Suicide Squad in August.
Arts University Bournemouth becomes biggest creative agency in the South West to deliver Virgin brief.
This week, students will be given 24 hours to come up with innovative creative solutions for a brief from Virgin StartUp.
The 70-minute feature length documentary follows a group of Hijras and the crew as they create new bonds of friendship, whilst breaking the barriers of popular myth and prejudice.
Research released by AUB reveals we are a nation of frustrated creatives, with 63% of Brits wishing they were in a career where they could make more use of their creative skills.
The research also found over half (54%) of Brits have a number of career regrets, including not investing enough time when choosing a career in the first instance (23%), their choice of school, college or university (21%) and wishing that they had been offered more career guidance at the beginning of their career path (20%).
BA (Hons) Fashion students Rebecca Jenkins and Luke Wharton are finalists in the 24th Hempel Award China International Young Fashion Designers Contest.

First year BA (Hons) Fine Art students open their exhibition to the public with private view event in transformed AUB studios.
The exhibition showcases the culmination of their second unit of study and celebrated seven small group exhibitions. It was curated and installed by first year students, transforming the AUB Northlight studios into a professional gallery space filled with a great variety of exciting art.

Courtney Dyer and Katie Rewse responded to the brief of illustrating a new edition of Michael Morpurgo’s popular modern classic War Horse.
The Firebird, Diaghliev and the Ballets Russes is a collaborative project and exhibition with BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design and BA (Hons) Graphic Design at AUB, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and TheGallery.
Students from BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design have produced a collection of designs in response to the The Firebird, which will be displayed at Lighthouse Poole on the evening of the performance.
The new building has three floors, including a set of shared workshop rooms on the ground floor for the individual creative processes that are an integral part of both courses. Special Make-Up Effects Designer and Honorary Fellow, Nick, is a multi award-winning artist with over thirty years experience in the film industry.
