BA (Hons) Architecture student Faris Ihsan has created an ‘Arish Hut’ on the AUB Campus.
The Arish is used as houses for the Bedouins (people of the desert) in Oman at the Wahiba Sands, in the Sharqiya Region. The Arish is made from the harvest of palm leafs.
Karrott Animation, set up by Animation Alumni Jamie Badminton, Tim O’Sullivan (2002) and Sarah Gomes Harris (2006) have won a BAFTA for their animated Cbeebies series ‘Sarah and Duck’.
On Nov 14th the top 25 short-listed entrants in Smint’s ‘Design our Cover‘ competition attended a private view where they saw their designs on show to industry professionals, journalists, judges and retail buyers at The Deck, The National Theatre, London.
BA (Hons) Graphic Design student Mike Smith has won a competition to design a poster for a ‘United Nations’ sponsored ‘World Toilet day’ for Pump Aid.
Pump Aid’s current programmes are improving access to safe, sustainable water for rural households in Malawi. Through partnership with communities they also safeguard health through better hygiene and sanitation practises and support entrepreneurial approaches to water supply, helping them to move beyond water and achieve lasting empowerment and sustainability.
