Emerald Ant’s Iguanodon Restaurant Learning Programme to go ahead in Schools

Emerald Ant is thrilled to announce an award of £29,900 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Over the next two years, schools in Dorset, Devon, Kent, Sussex and London will enjoy outdoor performances thanks to the Iguanodon Restaurant.

AUB welcomes Bestival to campus

AUB is delighted to announce that it will soon be welcoming the Bestival team to campus.

On Wednesday 26th April at 5pm, AUB SU will be hosting an open lecture entitled ‘How to Run a Festival’ which will see DJ and Bestival founder, Rob da Bank, founder of Leefest, Lee Denny, and Ele Beattie from Field Maneuvers share their experiences and insight into the festival world.

Funding support for EU students

European Union students applying to university for both the 2017/18 and 2018/19 academic years will still have access to student funding support.

The government announced that EU students applying to English universities for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 academic years will be eligible for student loans and grants for the duration of their course.

Textile and Architecture students collaborate on residency at Walford Mill Crafts

BA (Hons) Textiles and BA (Hons) Architecture students have collaborated on ‘Two Make’ exhibition, which is currently on display at Walford Mill Crafts, Wimborne.

As part of their events and engagement programme, Walford Mill Crafts in Wimborne offered two pairs of first year Textiles and Architecture students the chance to undertake a 3 week collaborative residency.

Sylvain Chomet visits Animation students

BAFTA award-winning and Oscar nominated director and animator, Sylvain Chomet, has been on campus this week sharing his work with BA (Hons) Animation students.

Chomet presented a showcase of his work to students and is also holding a special screening of one of his most famous works, The Illusionist, followed by a Q&A later today.

Fine Art host audio takeover in the Drawing Studio

On Friday 31st March, The Noematic Collective held a sonic takeover in the Drawing Studio at Arts University Bournemouth.

Sian Hutchings, Graduate in Residence for BA (Hons) Fine Art, founded the collective after starting a sound group open to all students within AUB.

Last week saw the opening of the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2016 exhibition, with a panel discussion and private view.

Into the Woods

Third year students from Arts University Bournemouth are excited to be collaborating with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s (BSO) contemporary music ensemble, Kokoro, on a production of Into the Woods at the Lighthouse Poole.

The production will run from 30th March – 1st April 2017.

Design for Disaster 2017

First year BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design students were asked to respond to a scenario which looks at the devastating effect of a natural disaster.

Students had to imagine how to deal with an unlikely earthquake in Bournemouth and were asked to respond to the situation with respect, sensitivity and expertise, keeping in mind the location and the culture of the area.
