Graphic Design students intern at Pentagram

Two BA (Hons) Graphic Design students have recently undertaken internships at Pentagram, the world’s largest independent design consultancy.

Steven O’Neil and Perry Rowe, both third year students, were lucky enough to gain internships, whilst 20 second year students had the opportunity to visit and speak with associate partner, Jason Ching. Jason is an alumni of the Graphic Design course at AUB and has been at Pentagram for twenty years.

Tigerprint Live Brief – Level 4

Level 4 BA (Hons) Textiles students complete a 4 week Live Brief with Tigerprint.

The summer term involves Level 4 students going out on placement to gain industry experience. Students either go to work directly with textile, fashion or interior companies or work as freelance designers on a live project.

“Working alongside Martina Spetlova for 8 weeks was an invaluable experience and I learnt a huge amount. I enjoyed working for a small company as it is much more personal and I felt I gained a greater insight into what it is like to be self-employed in the fashion textiles industry.

BA (Hons) Textiles students’ work showcased on It’s Our World online gallery

A selection of work, from students in their first year of the BA (Hons) Textiles course, have been entered into the It’s Our World gallery. 

The It’s Our World online gallery is an online collection of drawings and paintings by young people across the UK to help promote sustainable thinking and environmental awareness. The work from Level 4 BA (Hons) Textiles can now be found online.

Charlie Smith London Internships

An AUB student opportunity has been created in partnership with Zavier Ellis, a leading figure in the London art scene and director of Charlie Smith London, a gallery renown for discovering and developing new artists.

Two students a year are selected for internships of 3 months, working on the development and promotion of internationally recognised exhibitions, gaining invaluable insider experience of the Artworld and its works. The internships are supported with a bursary to aid with transport and logistics.
