AUB’s Bournemouth Film School has awarded Film Production student Rebeka Andersone the Rycote Sound Award 2019.
Rebeka Andersone has been awarded the Rycote Sound Award 2019 at Arts University Bournemouth’s 2019 Graduation Ceremony for her work specialising in sound production and design across both documentary and fiction film.

BA (Hons) Animation Production’s Jessica Mountfeilds ‘Anna’ is nominated for yet another award
The national judging of the Undergraduate Animation regional winning films from the RTS Student Television Awards 2019 has now taken place and a shortlist of three nominations has been selected.
After screening at festival MONSTRA in Lisbon back in March, 2018 graduate, Jessica Mountfield’s ‘Anna’ was selected for the MONSTRA à Solta (MONSTRA on the Loose) screening tour.
The goal of the tour is to take the new approaches, aesthetics, subjects — the art of animation — to places where it usually wouldn’t reach through the conventional media and means.
‘Whispering Onion’ has been selected for the ‘Student Films Competition’ programme at the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb 2019.
Animafest Zagreb was established in 1972 and is the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to animation. Animafest’s Grand Prix winners directly qualify for the Academy Awards and the European Animation Award.
A win for 2018 BA (Hons) Animation Production graduates at Animation Festival.
On Saturday the 9th of March, the day after graduate animation stopmotion production, ‘Anna’, by 2018 graduate Jessica Mountfield won best student animation at the RTS (Royal Television Society) Awards, the animated short also took home the award for ‘Best British Film’ at Canterbury AniFest. Canterbury Anifest is an annual award-winning animation festival in the South East of England.
Arts University Bournemouth PhD student, Juliette Losq has been included in the longlist for this years Ivan Juritz Prize.
The untitled work made the longlist in the Visual Art category of the 2019 prize.
Second-year BA (Hons) Architecture and BA (Hons) Textiles students from Arts University Bournemouth will collaborate on a series of concepts for shipping containers in Boscombe High Street as part of the BEAF 2019 Festival.
Bournemouth Emerging Arts Festival takes place annually, providing local arts practitioners a platform to exhibit their work, and an opportunity for the local community to participate in the arts. This year, a number of AUB students, staff and alumni have been involved in the arts festival.
Contemporary art exhibition, Joy Before the Object manipulates viewer perception at Seventeen Gallery, London.
Curated by Hoxton Distillery and supported by Arts University Bournemouth, Joy Before the Object focuses on artwork that emphasises or documents the placing, nudging and kneading of material, in the form of photography, sculpture, video, painting, or various hybrids. The work encourages the viewer to take pleasure in the results of others’ activity and recognise in them their own contingency, their own analogous subjectivity.
This may, AUB invited Dorset residents to a new musical adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ famous children’s classic, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which took place at the Lighthouse, Poole from Thursday 9th May to Saturday 11th May 2019.
Students from AUB’s BA (Hons) Acting, BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design and BA (Hons) Make-Up for Media and Performance are collaborating with Kokoro, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s acclaimed new music ensemble.
On 28th April, BA (Hons) Dance students form Arts University Bournemouth will perform at Pavilion Dance South West in their annual dance platform event, Springboard.
The event is a collaboration between AUB and New Arts Centre, Salisbury.
