Andy Ryan studied BA (Hons) Photography at AUB, graduating in 2013. Since graduating, Andy quickly found his style as a sports photographer, landing his dream job as Official Olympic Photographer for Team GB. Andy has photographed a variety of events, most notably Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and Winter Olympics in South Korea earlier this year.

A new animation book called Animation in Context was released by Bloomsbury on the 8 September.
The book was written by Mark Collington who worked as a Senior Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Animation Production Course from 2004-2006, and also studied on the old Animation HND from 1997-1999.
The book goes behind the scenes at W.E. Boone & Co – well known locally for its Aladdin’s cave interior filled with unexpected delights. Addison documents its 195 years of heritage that includes scandal, fire and the effect of two world wars. James worked with Photographer Rose Duffy who graduated from BA (Hons) Commercial Photography in 2011.

This Autumn they are collaborating with another theatre company, Yellowbelly Theatre (Will Hobby and Grace Noble). Together, they are touring a production of The Tempest across the country – to theatres, community venues and places of education.
What if Superheroes were around in Shakespearean times?
The BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design course has transformed DC Comic superheroes such as Batman, The Joker and Catwoman and reimagined them as Shakespearean characters in full Jacobean costume complete with ruffs, patterned silks and ornate cuffs and collars. The project is to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death on 23rd April 2016 and to celebrate the release of two DC movies this year – Batman v Superman in March and Suicide Squad in August.
Armoury Modeller, Tom Hughes, who graduated from BA (Hons) Modelmaking in 2015, made the papers this week for the replica Iron Age shield that he created for a museum in Lincoln.
The project was part of Tom’s final year project, when students pursue a design brief from an external client. Tom approached The Collection in Lincoln about any upcoming opportunities.
