Following a rigorous Ofsted inspection of the Preparation for Higher Education courses during April, The Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is pleased to announce it has received ‘Outstanding’ in the Overall Effectiveness of Provision in the report that was published in June.

The Preparation for Higher Education courses at the AUB include the Extended Diploma in Art and Design, the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and the Diploma in Photography. Over 400 students study on the AUB campus in Bournemouth, alongside 3,000 students from the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

the AUB also received ‘Outstanding’ in the Ofsted report in the ‘Outcomes for Learners’ and the ‘Quality of Provision’ offered at the AUB. Professor Jim Hunter, Deputy Principal at the AUB commented “This really is an outstanding outcome for the School of PrepHE and the AUB as a whole. It confirms the high quality of our PrepHE offering and highlights the commitment of our teaching staff to ensuring students receive the best possible tuition while on their course.”

Joana Picolo de Sousa, a graduating Foundation Diploma student commented “I loved my course, the tutors are very open and helpful, and they’re always around – they gave me all the guidance I needed with my work and I built a great relationship with them. I love the arts environment that surrounds you at the AUB, it’s not too big and as the people are all working within creativity, it creates a great feeling around campus.”
