Peter Wilson a former student at the Arts University Bournemouth has won a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games in men’s Double Trap Shooting. 25 year old Peter studies Graphic Design at the Arts University from 2005 to 2007.
Principal, Professor Stuart Bartholomew said “Peter has achieved what many covet but so few secure. He should be justly proud to have won Olympic gold and we convey our congratulations.”
Peter from Dorset has had been training in Double Trap shooting for the past 6 years. Upon winning the gold medal Peter commented that “It’s a dream come true”.
Peter completed a year of BA (Hons) Graphic Design at AUB before deciding to take up Double Trap shooting full time.
Current Arts University student Adelle Tracey has also achieved success at the London 2012 Olympic games. Adelle was nominated to ignite the torch at the opening ceremony for the London 2012 games by dame Kelly Holmes.
The Arts University itself was awarded a Silver Medal at the London 2012 Podium Awards in recognition of its work in costume and production design for the Opening Ceremony in Weymouth on Saturday.
