The results of the annual National Student Survey (NSS) 2012 have once again placed The Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) as one of the top specialist creative higher education institutions in England.

Overall satisfaction with the AUB rose by 6% from the previous year to 88%, which is in the top quartile of all universities in England. the AUB also scored within the top 10 of all 154 higher education institutions in four scales on the survey: Academic Support; Learning Resources; Assessment and Feedback; and Personal Development, with many of the scores above average within each of the four scales, including the Access to Specialist Equipment at the AUB which scored 10% above the national average.

In addition, the BA (Hons) Modelmaking course achieved an unprecedented 100% by its students for overall satisfaction in the course.

The great NSS results follow on from our success in the annual Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey by the Higher Education Statistics Agency which revealed that 97.7% of the AUB’s graduating class of 2011 were in work or further study six months after graduating – placing our graduates in the top 5 of all UK universities for employability.

Additionally, the AUB was voted the number one Creative University by students in the new Which? University guide, which was a joint collaboration by industry watchdogs Which? and the National Union of Students. Which? University surveys 10,000 students across the UK and compares universities, giving information to help find the right course at the right university.

Professor Jim Hunter, Deputy Principal commented “Excellence in all aspects of the student experience and high employability for our graduates are defining features of The Arts University Bournemouth. We are delighted that our students confirm their high levels of satisfaction as members of a dynamic, creative community which reports graduate progression to employment or further study at 97.7%”.
