This activity aims to encourage those students who can benefit most from what we have to offer, whatever their background, to apply to further and higher arts education.
WHAT WILL STUDENTS DURING ON YEAR 11 SUMMER SCHOOL?
This three-day activity is designed to give your students a taster of studying your chosen subject at further or higher education level. These sessions will allow them to develop specialist learning, team building, problem-solving and communication skills. Students can choose from a variety of subjects:
Commercial Photography, Creative Events Management, Interior Architecture and Design and Fine Art.
Please note, our staff will be responsible for welfare and safety of all students during the activity.
WHEN IS YEAR 11 SUMMER SCHOOL?
This activity will take place on 4th, 5th and 6th July 2017 from 9:30am – 3:00pm. Students will need to commit for the whole three-day duration enabling sufficient time to complete their projects.
There will be a 45 minute break for lunch on campus at noon.
WHERE IS YEAR 11 SUMMER SCHOOL?
Year 11 Summer School takes place on our campus located at Wallisdown on the border between Bournemouth and Poole. The campus offers a series of modern, purpose built studios, workrooms and teaching areas.
The workshops and studios are well equipped to the latest in industry standards and the university offers an enviable provision of specialist computer equipment.
HOW DO STUDENTS APPLY?
Student guides for Year 11 Summer School will be sent to designated schools. Teachers are asked to invite those who you feel could benefit.
We encourage the person with parental responsibility for your student (parents/guardians/carers) to read the student guide and then complete the online application form with the learner.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER STUDENTS HAVE APPLIED?
Once all applications have been received, we will let students know whether they have a place or not via email or letter.
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF GETTING A PLACE ON THE YEAR 11 SUMMER SCHOOL?
Places are limited so please be aware that applying for Year 11 Summer School does not guarantee anyone a place. Where possible, we try to allocate places for those who have a creative passion.
Teachers will also be told if students are on the reserve list and we will contact schools if a place becomes available.
