The Plastic Paradox: Demystifying 3D Printed Design
25th April 2018
The first in our 2018 series of Meet the Maker events will be hosted by the Museum of Design in Plastics (MoDiP), the UK’s leading resource for the study and interpretation of design in plastics and James Wood, the industrial designer behind Studio Wood in Bournemouth.
Beginning with an introduction to MoDiP, you will explore unusual ways of manufacturing in plastics, including 3D printing, through its collections, followed by a workshop activity in our new digital fabrication suite.
Participants will be introduced to the design process of 3D printing and learn key practical skills to complete an object on our P110 SLS printer.
These events are open to Dorset professionals in the maker industries who have an interest in building their capabilities or exploring new applications in design and to members of the plastics industry more widely.
