On Monday 20th August AUB students, staff and volunteers collaborated on all night neon project with artist Richard Wheater on Bournemouth beach.
44 5 foot neon tubes were joined together in an attempt to map the ever-moving highest water line on the sand as the tide advanced and retreated through the night until dawn.
Although an un-natural, un-practical and ultimately impossible task, one of the results was a startling beautiful film.
An exhibition to document the action more fully has been scheduled for the Autumn at the AUB Gallery.
This unique intervention was commissioned by AUB to mark the return of this the second year of the Arts Festival, sponsored by AUB. For full details go to artsbournemouth.org.uk/festival
The film was made by Nadia Shaw and Elliott Trent at AUB.
