As a town with two universities, Bournemouth is well-equipped when it comes to student nights. One of the favourites is We Are Your Friends at The Old Fire Station, a popular night of electro, dubstep, indie, house, disco and hip-hop.

The Winchester, at Bournemouth Triangle, is a great club-pub hybrid, offering everything from lively, dance-orientated events to poetry recitals.

For other entertainment, the O2 Academy in Boscombe is fast becoming a regular stop on the UK tour circuit for well known bands, while the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) hosts high-profile music, comedy and leisure events.

Bournemouth and Poole also host seasonal events throughout the year, with the hugely popular Bournemouth Air Festival in August and Bourne Free, the gay pride event, in July, filling the town and gardens with creative costumes and live entertainment.
